MILA SCHÖN TOKYO
THE BRAND
Mila Schön, originated in Milano 1958, now owned by Itochu Corporation, Japan, since of 1992.
They still maintain a foothold in the Italian market today under the brand name of Mila Schön Milano. The asian market continues to grow and as of today hold 30+ different licensees agreements in Japan and Korea.
MY SERVICE
I developed a seasonal umbrella theme, in the form of a digital file that was presented in Tokyo and Seoul, twice a year with a conference presentation for a team of over one hundred people.
Every season was presented in a small box containing an USB which was presented to each of the 30+ licensee companies. The content material was first and foremost made to inspire new products belonging to the Mila Schön concept. Inside were to be found concentrated moods for womenswear, menswear, homewear and interior textiles; constituting a total of 35 sub categories ranging from beachwear to formalwear and accessories which ranged from jewellery to leather goods such as handbags, belts and shoes. Each sub category was represented in 10-15 product designs with technical drawings, measurements and instructions. Additionally did I provide, working alongside my team, original fabric prints which reflected the seasonal theme. And lastly a binder with colour cards, fabric ideas and inspiration from the fabric fairs, Milano Unica, Pitti Filati and Premiere Vision.
This package was then processed by the teams of designers and technical staff at the licensee companies,
that then continued to develop the final product.
My services began as of spring summer 2013 and ended spring summer 2022, making it a 9 year long adventure.
SEASONS
PRINTS
The development of prints played a huge role in expressing the seasonal theme. Divided into men and women categories the prints could range from geometrical to floral, playful to more conservative. Carefully studied and designed for specific garments and accessories.
